Electronic trio Jeanette und das Land Z was founded by Kirsten Klemm,Matthias Schuster and Jan T.Krahn. At home a few tracks were recorded and in spring 1981 the first 7" "Poupée De Cire, Poupée De Son" a France Gall cover version, was released by Phonogram. The B-side was a strange soundtrack version of "Raumpatrouille", til today a German cult science fiction television series. After a series of interviews, great reviews and a radio session in Paris, the band returned to Hamburg to record their first album at Phonogram studios.
